Summer Getaways

We went to Utah for a weekend back in June and saw some good friends, visited Taylor's grandpa, fed the ducks, went up the canyon, walked around BYU campus, and had a BBQ with Taylor's sisters and cousins. It was so fun to be back in our old territory and to visit people we love. It was Peyton's first time feeding the ducks. She loved it! There were even baby ducks, which brought more excitement to the event.

We brought Peyton up the canyon to Bridal Veil Falls. She had so much fun, we had to go back again the following day. She loved walking in the cold water and throwing rocks in the water.

The canyon is gorgeous. I forgot how much I missed the it, especially as a place to run. (it was always my favorite trail) We had a great weekend. Peyton loved spending time with all her aunts, Taylor's cousins, and Taylor and my friend's little kids and Grant was a good sport and did very well with all the traveling.

The 4th of July was fun with Taylor's family. We attended the scout breakfast and Rupert parade. We made somores and watched a great firework show right from Paul and Kathy's beach in their backyard over the river. It was a perfect setting! Tiffany made a great festive cake too.
We made it to the cabin this summer for a weekend getaway too with Paul, Kathy, Megan, Tiffany, and Annie. Peyton was again spoiled by aunts attention and her Nana and Papa as they just couldn't resist buying her, her very own cowgirl boots and hat in West Yellowstone. Peyton didn't want to take either of them off. She absolutely loved them and even wore the boots to church. She also enjoyed finger painting, but wasn't so fond of getting her hand quite so dirty. She rode her bike and little 4-wheeler and we had a great relaxing time watching movies, playing games, and doing a bit of training for the spudman.
While we were in island park, we rafted down Henry's Fork. It was so beautiful and a definite fun thing to do. Peyton enjoyed most of it, until she fell asleep. Grant wasn't so happy though. It wasn't quite as relaxing as we thought it might be. It is kind of hard to bounce a baby to sleep standing in the middle of a raft. Everyone was a great sport about it and we had a great time. We even saw some mouse.

Laura, your kids are so precious! Those picture make me miss Utah-it is so beautiful in the spring/summer/fall (I never was a fan of winter!) Glad you all are doing well.

Cheryl

She looks so cute in her pink dress that is filled with "Lexi love" as Kylee would say. Looks like you all had a good time. Maybe one day I will get another post up.
