Peyton at 18 Months

Peyton had her 18 month Check up the other day and is healthy and happy. She is in the average percentile for weight and height, but don't worry she still has her ever so kissable cheeks!
A few things about Peyton at 18 months: (this is my attempt to journal so don't feel like you need to read this)

• Peyton's first words of mommy, daddy, Dash (our dog), ball, baby, hi ... came a while ago, but at about 17 months she started to talk beyond the jabbers and few word vocabulary. She counts to 3 and says words such as pictures, cracker, pretzel, chicken, horse, cow, eyes, nose, water... and many family members and friends names quite well. She repeats many words that she hears as well and has discovered the word "no." She continues to sign "more" and "all done" but is really developing her speach.


• She LOVES pictures. She goes to the computer multiple times a day and pointing at it in a innocent voice says "pictures, pictures" until we give in and allow her to look at pictures of her friends, family, and Dash or watch home videos. It is precious, but gets a little time consuming!
  
• As most children, Peyton loves to be outside. She brings Taylor or I our shoes and gets her own shoes in hopes that we will take her out. She plays with her sand/water toy or pushes her stroller with her baby around the driveway.
  
• Peyton loves going over to our neighbor's house to play - she tries to walk over their many times a day and throws a fit if she is not allowed to go. When she goes over she makes herself right at home playing with Jacobi's play kitchen or having a tea party at the little table. Thanks Kim for allowing my daughter and I to come over so much. She loves you and your daughter and your toys.


• A few other things Peyton loves: Dash (our dog), four wheeler rides, the swing, the park, water - doesn't mind getting her whole head wet, playing in the sand/dirt, seeing her friends, singing songs - she has started doing the motions to "wheels on the bus," "spider," and "head, shoulders, knees, and toes," stickers, showers - she tries to take off her clothes and climb in the shower whenever Taylor or I are going to shower, books, climbing and standing up on things, phones or anything that she pretends is a phone, twirling and singing "ashes, ashes" for ring around the rosy, her silkies, and babies.


• Peyton is a night owl. She gets "happy tired" at night and it is so hard for me to put my giggling, smiley child to bed before 10. I think she could play until midnight on a regular basis and still be a content little girl. She takes an 1 1/2 nap in the afternoon, but often does not seem like she needs or wants it. (I hope we can continue the nap until at least age 2)
  
• Peyton is still a Mommy's girl, which is making nursery very difficult. She does enjoy singing time in nursery. When she realizes Taylor or I are gone though, she does not stop crying, at least not yet.

Peyton is a delightful, content little girl and we are so grateful for her! We love her so much!
